INFORMATION:
Meeting on 25.05.25, 2.30 PM
at the entrance of Gasworks London
for its new exhibition Nolan Oswald Dennis: throwers
Then on to a pub (TBD, please register) at 3.30 PM
DESCRIPTION:
Join us for a relaxed and inspiring Sunday afternoon where art meets inquiry, and planetary systems collide with political imagination. We'll begin with a visit to throwers, the first UK solo exhibition by Nolan Oswald Dennis at Gasworks — a powerful and multifaceted investigation into the infrastructures that shape our world(s).
Throwers challenges the colonial idea of a single, knowable world, featuring large-scale murals, intricate diagrams, and a 3D-printed installation. Dennis proposes speculative models for envisioning a Black planet — layered with geological, cosmological, and techno-political knowledge. Central to the exhibition is recurse 4 a late planet, an expansive mural drawing on an archive of near-Earth asteroids — especially “potentially-hazardous-objects” — to tell a social history of stones, risk, and resilience.
After this exhibition visit together, we’ll walk to a nearby pub (TBD) for some time to reflect!
Please register so we can send you information about including which pub we’ll meet at.
